Comic Con Geekery

Dallas Comic-con was this past weekend.  Normally, I'd post cosplay pictures but I didn't really snap much in the way of costumes this year..  We had a friend dress as a white mad-hatter (excellent costume) who brought home the annoyance of pictures at a con.  He spent quite a bit of time posing for pics and while I know most folks don't mind, it would interfere with a con experience if that was all you got to do.  I did snap one pic because it was just too funny to pass up - Quail Man ^_^
This year had some pretty cool media guests including Spike (aka James Marsters) from Buffy & River Tam (aka Summer Glau) from Fire Fly but the artists rocked the house in my opinion.  We picked up some great X-Men and Batman sketch colorings by Jeff Balke. He was a cool guy who signed the pages for us and didn't laugh too hard when I flipped over the Gambit art...

And then there was the print by Jerry Bennet I didn't get to buy as I was out of moola <sniff, sniff>  Thankfully, I found the artist on DeviantArt this morning because Doctor Who AND steampunk make my heart go pitter-patter...
by Jerry Bennett
Someday soon this print will be mine!

We also scored some non-art swag including the first season of Charmed that our friend picked up for an unbelievable price and a blue-ray version of Dr. Horrible.  I got a very cool Fire Fly t-shirt...
and I now have my first official sticker for the new ride...
Between Serenity and my plate holder declaring my other car to be a TARDIS, I am slowly turning my white beast into a nerd-mobile. ^_^
