RePosted Poetry - Fear

There was a spider in the bathroom.  I don't do spiders. At.All.  But the Hubby was gone so I had to deal.  After pushing the little sucker down the drain, I wrote the below; of course I was listening to the Cure’s Spiderman song.
It started as a funny little play on the text I sent to my Hubby but went to a dark place quickly.  It figures a spider would push me into dark rhetoric. ^_^

There are spiders in the bathroom
Creeping up the drain
To fill me full of poison
Misery and pain

There is but one lone candle
The Cure is playing in the hall
And the spiders in the bathroom
are pouring down the walls

Bit by bit they’ll eat me
Nesting in my hair
Spinning webs across my skin
Each marking off its share

The spiders in the bathroom
Are rushing to the door
To trap me in this musty hell
Bleeding on the floor

Stuck in sticky resin
Screaming to deaf ears
The spiders in the bathroom
are feeding on my tears

  1. Wonderfully innocent to begin with then gets scary. Really, really liked it, Jenn, from the sing song voice to the increasingly dark imagery. Well done you!
