Reposted Poetry - Rescue

I promise I'm a happy person most days.  I know it's hard to tell with all these reposted poems but I never claimed to write good poetry or happy poetry.

Can you save me from this sadness
Pull me out of this oppressive cage
Can we walk this earth together
Brave the storms and pounding rain

Can you pull me from this mind-trap
A cruel and twisted place
The river of possibilities
Running red with inward hate

Can you lighten this vast darkness
Bring the sun into my days
Can we throw open the windows
Move the air to drop the blade

Can you free me from this prison
Walk me past the gates of hell
Or am I doomed to desolation
The only sound, my funeral knell

Can you spare this jaded soul
Can my days turn peaceful still
Will you love me once it’s dark
And age has broken down the thrill

  1. OH, this is beautiful! So many good lines and raw with emotion. Terrific work, Jenn! :)

    1. Thanks. It seems dark but it's really a love poem for the Hubby.
